ABOUT RIVERVIEW FARM
Riverview Farm is a private a twelve acre family farm located on the banks of the Middle Deschutes River near Cline Falls in Redmond, Oregon. It is one of the original historic farming properties established during The Homestead Act over a hundred years ago and is currently undergoing a 21st century transformation. Farm infrastructure and irrigation is being updated to embrace best practices for conservation and stewardship of the land. Fourteen different varieties of lavender were planted by a crew of local volunteers the summer of 2023 and we look forward to our first full harvest of lavender the summer of 2025. We also have a variety of unique fresh flowers available seasonably starting in 2024.
The farm has spectacular overlook of the Middle Deschutes River supporting more than thirty species of fish and an abundance of wildlife and fauna. It is also in very close proximity to many regional activities and attractions including golf, hiking, world class rock climbing, mountain biking, river rafting, paddle boarding, skiing, bird watching, official dark night sky corridor star gazing and breathtaking sunset views of Central Oregon's Cascade Mountain Range and its' ancient volcanic landscape.
OUR STORY
A MAN WHO LOVES TO FISH AND A WOMAN WHO LOVES TO FARM
Chanute - KS - 1878
“Mr. Truitt is an enthusiastic and highly successful fruit grower, and it will be recollected that he sent a fine sample of his apples for exhibition at the last meeting of our Horticultural Society at Humboldt…We are pleased to record his arrival, and extend to him a hearty welcome, hoping he may find a pleasant home among our people, and prosper to the utmost”.
Redmond - OR - 2021
The dream of continuing the family farming tradition begins anew in Redmond, Oregon on 12 acres of the original homestead farm established in 1907 by W.J. Buckley. It embraces both Abby's families' historic Truitt & Sons family flower and fruit farm in Chanute, Kansas and Ted's love of fishing and the outdoors. The Buckley family is developing the historic Oregon farm property to fully embrace these shared histories, a mindful conservation of natural resources and a heartfelt connection to the land and community.
